The Art of Night and Low Light photography is a fascinating genre of photography. Capturing a scene at night means working in the dark which is not the easiest thing to do. The colour and quality of light changes minute by minute after the sun is gone when the city or ambient light takes over.


You’ll be getting tips to get balanced exposures. We’ll have an interactive discussion on photo examples and techniques of night photography.




During this workshop you’ll find out that night photography can be challenging as well as fun! What you see and what the camera captures, shows something else: the lit cityscape and the twilight beauty surrounding you.

You'll be encouraged to experiment with your camera settings so you can be rewarded with images you can be proud of!
 
Some knowledge of basic camera controls and exposure is a requirement to help you get the most out of this workshop.

THE ART OF CREATIVE NIGHT & LOW LIGHT WORKSHOP

This unique workshop takes place as a full day and overnight weekend trip to Bruges filled with discussion & outdoor practice.

Practical Exercise

We start the workshop indoors in Brussels where we explore some principles and challenges of photography in low light conditions. Then we leave for Bruges from Brussels central station and spend the early evening with practical shooting.


Timings :

0945 - 1300. Indoor workshop in Brussels. Quick lunch.

1315. Departure to Brussels Departure by train to Brugues.

1500-1530. Arrival in Bruges and hotel.

1615-1945. Night photography!

2015. Group dinner.

End of day.


Practical Exercise

0900. Morning breakfast and review of photos.

Noon. Check out and return back to Brussels

Travelling costs (train ticket, meals, accommodation) are not included.


I have reserved rooms at this hotel. Rate is €75 for  twin sharing beds (€37.50 per person) which you pay directly to the hotel. Single room at €75.


Alternatively, you can also book a hotel of your choice.

  • This workshop is intended for those who have already done the Basic Photography Workshop OR have an understanding of photography exposures and working with their cameras in manual mode.
