The Art of Creative Composition. Composition refers to the way the various elements in a scene are arranged within the frame. To be creative, rules of composition are either broken or an exploration on how the elements can be re-arranged into an aesthetically pleasing image.
Composition or 'Creative Vision' is one of the most difficult things to visualise. It is a very personal relationship between the photographer and the subject. It is how a photographer puts a compelling story on a two dimensional photograph.
Everyone has a camera these days. So how you visually capture something that is also being photographed by other people right next to you will distinguish your work from others. Often, the technical side of an image is easier to learn. The one thing that separates a great image from another is the
Creative Vision (a.k.a. Composition).
My goal of teaching composition is not to create clone photographers of my style. Instead, I will share principles and thought processes which you will explore. At the end of this workshop, you will develop your own interpretation - the way you see the world in photography.

This unique workshop takes place over 1 evening and an overnight weekend trip to Brugges and surrounding areas filled with discussion & outdoor practice.

- How composition makes a huge difference to your photos
- An in-depth discussion of composition concepts and principles.
- Framing each photograph dynamically.
- Inspiration and learning to see differently.
- Developing a personal style.
- Learn by doing! The best way to learn! We will be spending a lot of time practicing.
- Immediate review and feedback of your images.

- The workshop fee is €160 for the 2.5 day of creative vision workshop.
- Excludes cost of 1 night accommodation. Budget €45 per person twin sharing Snuffel Hostel)
- Thursday evening + a weekend (Saturday - Sunday) in Bruges
- Sometime in 12th October evening and weekend 14-15th October 2023.
- Indoor interactive discussion and workshop followed by a weekend of putting things into practice!
- You are encouraged to come with a small set of previous photos (landscapes, people, cityscapes, etc) for discussion.
- There will be a review of your practical work at the end of the workshop.
- This workshop is intended for those who have already done the Basic Photography Workshop OR have an understanding of photography exposures and working with their cameras in manual mode.
