DISCOVER THE MAGIC OF FILM
PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
2 Thursday evenings 18th and 25th February 2021. 19.00 - 22.00.
Commencement of workshop subject to easing of lockdown conditions.
I started my photography career using film before moving on to digital. Unlike digital photography, besides mastering camera techniques, patience and time were virtues for correct exposures and composition. An internal mindfulness debating if the shot was worth taking. Unlike digital, each shot costs money so they had to be purposeful and meaningful shots.
I still remember the excitement of mixing the chemicals, developing each roll of negative carefully. And the joy of printing contact sheets and waiting impatiently how each sheet of photographic paper slowly develops into an image.
The purpose of this workshop is to help you make better photographs through understanding how good film photography techniques works. I also want to share my film photography passion while discovering the joy of working with analogue cameras in this instant digital age.
The film developing techniques you learn can be easily adapted when you are back home.
